Hey everyone! It's been a while, and my absence is mostly due to the fact that I've been slowly trying to ween myself off of the distractions in my life that have prevented me from getting as much done as I've wanted to get done. For the most part I've been keeping blocked most websites that are time consuming for most of the day, and will visit briefly after I've gotten everything done.
That aside, I've been thinking a lot about 2014 and what my New Year's resolutions are going to be. Normally I don't invest a lot of time into it because most people forget about it a month later and no changes are really made in their lifestyle. It's something that really bothers me a lot, and so for a while I didn't really care about it much because I felt like the whole year should be a time of committing to change instead of just making a promise at the end of the year (and rarely following through with those promises).
But this year I really want to really buckle down and develop some good habit/get rid of some bad ones. For the last few months I've been doing this (and have been pretty successful at it with a lot of things) but I dunno, I just really want to write this journal to look back on throughout the year so I can cross things off my list and see just how much I did manage by 2015! I don't even remember most resolutions I made last year, so I'm not really sure how well I did. I remember that I said I'd move out with my best friends, so I guess I got SOMETHING done!
So yeah, here's the list of my resolutions for this year. I will probably add more later, but for now this is the stuff I want to focus on! And I'm going to be crossing stuff off my list as I do it and gonna see if I can get half of it done!
-Complete at least one sketchbook without tearing any of the pages out
-Limit time on low-priority activities (DA, Tumblr, Youtube, etc.)
-Finish my first book, even if it's only the rough draft
-Learn something new every day, even if it's just adding a new vocabulary word to my collection
-Finish reading at least a book a month
-Overcome my depression/anxiety!
-Become more organized
-Stop eating fast food/drinking soda
-Learn to play the guitar better
-Get my associates degree (I'm so close!)
-Get a better job
-Stop biting/picking nails
-Get rid of and avoid toxic people in my life
-Remind Dee how grateful I am for her every day
-Move into a new apartment
-Eat healthier and get the recommended hours of exercise and sleep
-Pick up meditation
-Become more adventurous!
-Learn to cook
-Spend less time online/involved in technology
-Make my DA page amazing
I can't think of anymore at the moment, but I want to get at least half of these done next year! What do you guys resolve to do next year? Feel free to share, I'd love to know what you guys want to change in your life and I'll be rooting for you all!
